What is BeautyEx?
BeautyEx was born out of the desire to offer stylists, aestheticians, makeup-artists and students a forum to learn and experience the newest beauty trends of the season in a more intimate and interactive setting. Live demonstration and hands-on education are the focus of this 2 day event and if you sign up for our VIP tickets you can leave certified in not one but two areas!
BeautyEx is focused on educating stylists in everything hair and beauty.
This event will offer two types of tickets: a VIP ticket, which will include TWO hands-on classes of your choosing (first come, first serve) in addition to access to the show floor and all Monday business seminars; and a General Admission ticket which will include access to the show floor and the Sunday evening competitions.
This new event series launched in Edmonton on October 1 & 2, 2017. Stay tuned for 2018 dates and locations!
1. Do I have to be a beauty professional or is it open to the public?
A. Yes, this show is closed to professionals and students in the beauty industry only.
2. How is this event different from an ABA Show?
A. BeautyEx is solely focused on education for those working in the beauty industry. These events will be smaller than ABA shows but with much more interactive hands-on education; providing stylists with the opportunity to really connect with the educators and have their questions answered. The show floor will feature live demonstrations at every booth in addition to the hands-on and look and learn education offered in private classrooms.
3. Will there be competitions?
A. Yes, we will host our traditional ABA competitions on the Mainstage at BeautyEx. To find out more about ABA competitions click on the button below.
4. Will I be still able to shop on the show floor?
A. Yes, there will be shopping available, just on a smaller scale.
The BeautyEx event floor will be smaller than a traditional ABA show and will instead feature the latest and greatest products in hair and beauty that you will be able to purchase.
5. Will there be a Mainstage?
A. Yes, we will have a Mainstage on the show floor where Manufacturers will provide rotating education in addition to our headliner and our ABA competitions.
6. Will there be a Careers in Beauty section? What is that?
A. ABA Careers in Beauty is a section on the show floor that will feature salons, schools and training academies that can help guide professionals and students on their career paths. The exhibitors at these booths will be able to answer questions on everything from entering the beauty industry to elevating your career and taking it to the next level. This is also a great place to see who’s hiring in your area.
7. What cities will have BeautyEx events?
A. We launched our first BeautyEx event in Edmonton in October 2017 and are now in the planning stages for 2018 BeautyEx events.
The 2018 BeautyEx schedule will be posted in February 2018.
