SACO featuring Richard Ashforth & Charmaine Piché
SACO VIDEO (90 MG)Saco was established in 2004 by three ex-Creative Directors of Vidal Sassoon. All three are highly-respected within the industry and are much in demand both as hairdressers and in the global education arena. Now striving to bring their collaborative brand Saco into the hairdressing limelight, they have amassed a young, vibrant and creative team to complete the Saco collective.
Richard Ashforth - Founder
Richard first studied Art and Art History, before embarking on a hairdressing career in 1985 and moving to London to be trained at Vidal Sassoon. He was quickly promoted to Senior Creative Director for Vidal Sassoon Schools UK, and credited with influencing the iconic collections of the 90s & early 2000's. Besides travelling the world teaching his philosophy of Contemporary Beauty to the elite of hairdressing, Richard was also responsible for launching the Vidal Sassoon product line in Asia with Mr Sassoon.
Richard has worked with the best names in the international fashion scene – from catwalk shows for John Galliano, Hermes and Vivienne Westwood, to photo shoots with David Bailey, American and British Vogue and I-D. Richard's versatility and contemporary style has allowed him to work with a range of celebrities from the worlds of film, art & music.
Richard is Internationally renowned for his directional, forward thinking ideas, his belief in simplicity and commitment to beauty - reflected in all of Saco's seasonal collections.
Charmaine Piché - Founding team member
Born in Northampton to a renowned sculptor, Roland Piché, Charmaine have always had a passion for hair, and entered the world of hairdressing upon leaving school. Her career with Vidal Sassoon spanned 10 years, and saw her rising quickly from the ranks of Trainee Technician to Head of Department for various Vidal Sassoon salons in the UK and Beverly Hills.
A leading authority on hair colour trends, Charmaine is also a dynamic and inspiring trainer and has travelled the world for seminars and shows, demonstrating her creative direction and influence in colour and perm trends for Vidal Sassoon. Charamine's creativity has earned her the opportunity of working with some very influential names in the fashion and film industry, including Sophie Dahl, Heather Locklear and Minnie Driver.
Charmaine keeps Saco at the cutting edge with the latest techniques and colours. Although extremely technically knowledgeable, Charmaine enjoys pushing the boundaries and creating new colour trends. From naturally shimmering highlights to bold fashion colours, Charmaine's technique is second to none.
